International Program of FRONTIER BIOTECHNOLOGY
Master and Doctor Degrees for October 2008

The Graduate School of Engineering at Osaka University is excited to announce a special degree program for Frontier Biotechnology taught in English. The aim of this program is to expose young scientists to state-of-the-art research skills and indepth knowledge of advanced biology, chemistry and physics to harness the potential of biotechnology. The program encompasses both Master and Doctor Courses, while emphasizing research that directly benefits society and the environment. Students are expected to enroll in these courses sequentially in order to obtain both a master's and doctoral degree.

Scholarship Benefits

1. 170,000 yen per month
2. Air ticket (to and from Japan)
3. 25,000 yen as arrival allowance
4. Tuition exempted

Application Requirements

• Nationality: must be of the countries whose citizens are eligible for a Monbukagakusho Scholarship (Japanese Government Scholarship).
• Age: must be less than 35 years as of April 1, 2008 (i.e. born after April 2, 1972).
• Education: Graduated or are expected to graduate by September 30, 2008 from a university or college.
• Language ability: must have a good command of English.
